After returning to my house after class on Tuesday, I decided it was the perfect weather for snowman making. I started with the larger one on the right. Feelin’ in the snowman makin’ groove, I made the snow kid, and then finally the snow dog in front of me in this picture.

Me an' my snowfolks

Believe it or not, this took about an hour and a half’s worth of work, and I was kinda tired after I was done. After putting the finishing touches on the dog (notice its stick tail) I looked at my work and said to myself…

“Who does that??”

In other news, it’s snowing like the dickens in Minneapolis tonight. So, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy few more weeks of winter. Hope your winter ends well, everybody.

I went to two, count ‘em, TWO concerts this weekend. This week my folks are off visiting V,  my older sister,  in warm sunny Florida. I got a call this weekend from my Dad, asking me to validate his claim that there was indeed a band called “The Crash Test Dummies” who had a big hit in the ’90s.

The hit in question, we found out later, is entitled Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm.

In any case, being the jealous person I am, I needed to take my mind off of the fact that the rest of us Minnesota folk are still in for another few weeks of cold feet and dry skin courtesy of everyone’s favorite season. So, I decided to cut loose and soak up some concerts with a few friends.

I didn’t end up taking any photos of my fantastic adventures this weekend, but I did dream up a new logo (or gravatar, I suppose) for Seefoxrun. It seems that the application to change the seefoxrun gravatar is smarter than I am, so for now I’ll just post up my neato MS-paint drawing.

Brand spankin' new gravatar

I don’t know about you, but I think he’s kinda cute.

Just so you know, I never ended up going back to the St. Paul winter carnival. On the day I had planned to go visit the ice sculptures and watch the parade, on that fateful day, the sun was out in force. Temperatures rose, and statuesque works of ice art all melted. The balmy weather did not put the kibosh on the parade, but I figured I didn’t want to drive all the way out to St. Paul just to stand in one spot and slowly freeze my buns off for a few hours just for some lousy parade.

So yeah, that’s the reason why there was never a follow up update to the winter carnival.

What else can I tell you? Hey! I went to my first ever career fair. Was it exciting? Yes! Was everyone I talked to super eager to hire me? Yes! Am I lying? Yes!

Truthfully, I was glad I went to the career fair. I found myself a bit disappointed in the low number of employers that were actually seeking to fill job openings… but hey, you can’t win ‘em all. Going to the job fair certainly gave me the kick in the pants that I needed to get my job search in full swing, so at least I got that going for me.

Have a holly jolly weekend.
