This is an official ”Run Fox, Run!” I O U. I owe you one totally kick ass update about my trip home last weekend. I owe you one long explanation of the righteous few days I had, and how my folks topped it all off by buying me groceries. Unfortunately since I’m overloaded right now, we’ll just have to cling to the edges of our seats a little longer.

In the mean time, can you tell the difference between these two pictures?

Well, I guess the title says it all. Gretta is back home, safe and sound. And since I was feeling handy last week, I also tried fixing up my bike a little bit. Mostly I wanted to re-wrap Trojan’s handlebars, but I decided to fiddle around with the (once again) defunct front derailleur. I didn’t have much luck on the derailleur, but the wrap on the handlebars seems to be holding – which is plenty good for me, anyhow.

Today I was puttin’ out fires. Figuratively, that is. Well, figuratively re-extinguishing out some fires that should have been put out a while ago, let’s say. I headed down to the DMV to clear up a few address changes which had been preventing me from receiving my renewed MN driver’s license. Apparently Seefox runs a bit too fast for the Department of Motor Vehicles. But, hopefully the helpful lady at counter 12 got everything taken care of for me. If not, I have no idea what I’ll do. Start crackin’ skulls maybe, who knows?

While I was downtown, I had to make a stop at a super-secret-cookie-baking location to pick up some super-secretly delicious cookies. I don’t get to go all that often, so naturally, I got two! So, here’s a super secret shout out to the super secret lil’ lady who shared her secret. Shhh!

PS - the cookies are huge.

Well, that’s all I know. Here’s a picture for you to look at.

So I have this gift certificate for Amazon.com. I’m also taking a Backpacking trip in early October for a class I’m taking. Being the savvy shopper that I am, I’m trying to purchase a few pairs wool socks with my gift card. Although I have received a fair number of specialty socks as Christmas gifts, birthday presents, and the like, I can’t track down any of them. I would seem that the majority of my socks that are white or argyle. I do, by the way, have an extensive collection of argyle socks.

Why's there a lightsaber coming out of my neck?

Ok, so maybe extensive isn’t the best word, but I do enjoy me a good pair o’ argyles.

You know how Amazon offers the product from their warehouse, but then also has that hyperlink stating that said item is also available “used and new” from other sellers? Apparently “used and new” applies for socks as well.

Gross. Although I’ve checked out few socks with options for “used and new,” I have yet to find anyone offering me their old dirty socks. But, come to think about it, that’s a testament to the awesome power of the internet right there; connecting those weirdos who want to sell their used socks with all those other weirdos who want to by ‘em. Ah, this digital age!

And hey, guess who turned in his Fulbright application yesterday? If you guessed me, you’re right! Even though the application is in, the selection process is far from over. The next step is an interview later this month with the University Fulbright committee, whose recommendation holds a fair bit of clout in the next part of the process. Wish me luck!
